Lot 293 Browning Superposed 'Pigeon Grade' 12 GA. #50201
'Felix Funken Master Engraved & Signed' Belgium made over and under box-lock shotgun chambered for 2 3/4" 12 Gauge shells, manufactured circa 1956, and imported by Browning Arms Company out of St. Louis, MO. Featuring blued finish, 28" vent ribbed barrels, fixed chokes are marked for Skeet / Skeet, ejectors, Bradley front sight with ivory insert, gold-toned single smooth curved inertia trigger (finished loss), tang mounted serrated sliding barrel selector and safety, long lower tang, and a checkered top lever. Barrels are blued, and the rest of the components are French Greyed. The receiver, top lever, and trigger guard display full coverage of floral scroll engravings, edge designs, and a depiction of upland game on both sides of the receiver. The semi-fancy figured walnut furniture consists of a round-knob pistol gripped shoulder stock with checkering at the wrist, sliding checkered forend with deeley latch release, 14 1/4" length-of-pull, 1-5/8" drop at comb, 2-3/8" drop at heel, and a red solid rubber Noshoc recoil pad with black spacer. The original blued finish retained is approximately 98% with superficial scratches, and some edge wear at the muzzle. The French Greyed receiver shows a minute amount of emerging surface rust along the right & left stock stock line (barely detectable with the naked eye), same with the latch recess on the forend metal and the front of the trigger guard has a spot of patina. Furniture wood looks good with scattered light scratches and dings, and the finish is crazing. Bores are excellent and bright, and the action is smooth and crisp with the top lever resting right of center..
